Q. How much does registration for Matter ‘09 cost?
A. The regular registration rate is $225. Register Now!
Q. I can’t come the whole time. Is there a day rate for the conference?
A. Yes. The day rate for Matter ‘09 is $100 per day. You will receive a t-shirt and a copy of the Matter Anthology as well as access to that day’s events.
Q. Is there a special rate for students/faculty from the Seminary of the Southwest?
A. Yes. Please contact us directly for details.
Q. Do I have to submit a paper or artwork to attend?
A. Nope. Anyone can come and fully participate in all the conference events, discussions, performances, etc. Come one, come all, we say!
Q. What does my registration fee get me?
A. Your conference fee covers:
- all general session fees and entrance fees to all performances
- coffee, tea, and snacks throughout the conference
- a conference t-shirt
- a copy of the Matter anthology
Q. Who’s throwing this party?
A. Headquartered in Tyler, TX, Shechem Ministries, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to following in the way of Christ and supporting emerging artists, writers, and scholars through conferences, publications, and networking. Shechem Ministries also supports two unique divisions: Shechem Press and Square Top Repertory Theatre.
Q. Can I sell my art at the conference?
A. Yes. We will have limited display area for artwork available on a first come first served basis. We ask that you submit a digital sample by September 1 to info@mattercon.com so that we can be sure of your specific display needs. This is a separate submission category from our formal call for papers & artwork. Art submitted strictly for sale at the event does not have to adhere to the conference theme. Shechem Ministries takes a standard 20% commission on all art sales.
